Abstract
The global risk landscape has undergone a significant transformation over the last decade due to
the increasing frequency and severity of pandemics, cyber threats, and geopolitical conflicts. These
emerging risks have exposed the limitations of conventional insurance products and challenged
insurers to develop innovative risk management solutions. The COVID-19 pandemic resulted in
unprecedented economic disruptions, while cyber-attacks have become more sophisticated with
increasing digitalization. Similarly, political instability, trade restrictions, sanctions, and armed
conflicts have intensified uncertainties affecting businesses and investments worldwide. This paper
reviews the evolving nature of emerging risks and examines the role of the insurance industry in
strengthening economic resilience. The study adopts a literature review methodology using reports
from international organizations, insurance regulators, and academic journals. The analysis
highlights the need for technological innovation, public-private partnerships, regulatory reforms,
and advanced risk assessment models to ensure sustainable insurance coverage. The paper
concludes with policy recommendations for insurers, governments, and businesses to improve
preparedness against future emerging risks.
